Turbulent canopy flows

Turbulence inside and above the urban or forest canopy has a peculiar structure

Together with the Israel Institute for Biological Research (IIBR) we study turbulence structure inside and above the canopy layer. The research is by Dr. Ron Shnapp, who graduated in 2020 and by Lior Shig, our present Ph.D. We would like to understand more about the way pollution gets spread in urban areas



For this research we have developed an extended version of the 3D-PTV method. We presented to the the scientific community during the Le Hughes School on Turbulence, the slides are here:
